Dear Vineyard Family,

 

A CONGREGATIONAL LETTER

 

A church family is just like a normal family where we have to live within our means, work hard, and make tough decisions sometimes. This is one of those very difficult decisions.

 

Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, our church giving has been trending downward for some time. This decline was addressed at our recent Finance Board meeting, and, reluctantly, we have had to make difficult cutbacks for the financial health of the church. We have now come to the point where it has become necessary to let go of our full time paid staff position of Student Ministry.  Charlie and Kelly Herring have been a huge blessing to our church for the past 5 years and 8 months.  They will be greatly missed. The good news is that their legacy in our church will be those they have trained and worked with in the areas of nursery, children, youth, and AWANA.  There will be challenges, but we believe and are confident as each of you step up in their absence in your area of ministry, our church will not miss a beat.

 

Charlie and Kelly were given the option of a two week notice or a four week notice – whichever suited them the best.  They have chosen the two week notice which will be Thursday December 17th, 2015.  Their last Sunday with us will be Sunday December 13th in which Beverly and I will make a special presentation to Charlie & Kelly to show our appreciation and pray over them as they move to Memphis.

 

Charlie and Kelly are working with us for a smooth transition in all the areas they have worked in.  By the time December 17th rolls around we will have everything in place to move forward as a church in 2016.

 

In the meantime, pray for the Herrings as they move on to their next assignment in the Lord.  We will miss them dearly.
